About Us

Introduction

Mission Statement Pakistan Science and Engineering Forum, a unique collaboration between world-class Pakistani professionals, citizen scientists and science entusiast, is dedicated to the proposition that making discoveries is the birthright of all free people. We remove the roadblocks that prevent ordinary people from participating in scientific adventures of all kinds. Now you are limited only by your own intelligence, drive, and ambition. Our members include people with no technical training whatsoever all the way to people with Ph.D.s. Our aim is to get everyone involved to the limits of their own desire; from tinkering in their own garage to working on stimulating projects on the front lines of science regardless of age, ethnicity or background.

Anyone interested in helping PakSEF achieve its goal is welcome to join our community. As a member of our online forum, you will have the privilege to discuss critical issues with other interested members.

Furthermore, PakSEF is in a need for technical support. As a fellow volunteer, you will work in team with other board members to organize and run various activies initiated by PakSEF. For more information, contact us at info@paksef.org

Founding Charter

The Pakistan Science and Engineering Forum (PakSEF) is a web-based discussion forum established on June of 2002. The forum was established with its long-term objective of formulating an action plan to bring Pakistan into the limelight of cutting edge Scientific and Technological Research. By bringing Pakistani Scientists and Engineers from all fields together we hope to establish a dialogue between them on the following issues:

What is the future of scientific research in Pakistan?

To discuss and critique Pakistan’s science education policy

To formulate strategies on improving scientific education in the country from the grassroots prospective.

To formulate strategies on how we can encourage and provide funding for scientific research in Pakistan.

Other than the above discussions we intend to initiate several projects, which are:

To establish Science and Technology journals, which would be printed in all the major languages of Pakistan. The purpose of these journals is to disseminate scientific knowledge to the masses, thus creating a common scientific awareness amongst them.

To establish Scientific and Technical journals for the Pakistani professional. The purpose of these journals is to provide Pakistan’s scientific community with an outlet to publish their works and share it amongst themselves. Also giving them greater visibility in the global scientific community.

To establish, sponsor and promote trade shows, conferences, seminars, workshops and trainings in the country.
PakSEF is currently in the process of establishing itself; we would appreciate any help or assistance from the scientific and engineering community.

As part of our initial building phase we are trying to bring together as many Pakistani Scientists and Engineers from Pakistan and abroad to initiate a dialogue where we can discuss the issues at hand and begin to formulate an action plan to bring Pakistan into the limelight of Scientific and Technological research.
